I've been quiet here since school started because A LOT of things have been on my plate lately in my personal life. Bleh.

Anyway, with Ao3 recently being down again, I was wondering if I should maybe actually look into crossposting my fics elsewhere too...? I see a lot of folks use SquidgeWorld, but I've also heard it's sort of pro-censorship? I see a lot of mixed opinions. If any of you strongly like or dislike it, let me know your thoughts about using it. Otherwise, I've considered posting them here or perhaps making my own website. Making a website has always interested me but I'm a bit intimidated by the idea of building something like that myself. I have extremely little experience with coding...

I sadly haven't been writing that much since I haven't been in a good headspace. I'm hoping I can get back into writing the Genshin fic my partner and I have been working on. Honestly, I'm just waiting for it to be time for Anime Boston. (We have about a month!) I need a weekend where I don't think about anything that's been stressing me out. My partner and I will be cosplaying again so I've been working on those when I can. Not sure if there's gonna be any panels or anything we wanna do in particular yet.

Speaking of cons, I might have some new mutuals here from the recent Citrus Con and their adjacent BL server. If that's you, hello!!! I promise I'm not always a downer and actually talk about BL sometimes lol.

What do you mean by "pro-censorship"? I post my fics on SquidgeWorld as well as Ao3, mostly because a friend recommended SqW. My understanding is that SquidgeWorld will NOT police what you post, with very few exceptions, which is why I am confused by the "pro-censorship" term because I would take that term to mean "very into censoring others' speech" and that's not at all the vibe I get from SquidgeWorld. They have a community here on DW for status updates, and there's a little more about their policies there - it's at squidgestatus. I'm just a very sometimes user, though, so what I know is limited, but yeah, the vibe I get from them is they're pretty allowing of things.

I don't yet back up my fic on a personal website, but I do have a Neocities site for my Final Fantasy documentation projects. I'm not a pro coder myself, though probably better than the average newbie since my degree was in math & compsci, though that was ages ago (I'm old). I have fun tinkering around with the site. If you decide to go that route and want advice, I'd be glad to help out.
