If we can't even talk about in fiction, then where can we talk about it? Nowhere. And problems that can't be talked about usually can't be solved. Storytelling is one of the greatest tools for exploring difficult situations at a safe remove.

Exactly. So much of fandom is just vicious and judgmental now. Those are not people I want to be around.
