I'm old enough I never had to deal with accidentally ending up in fandom spaces with "antis" thankfully, so I'm sorry you and your partner went through that! I was an Axel/Roxas shipper too when I was really into KH, and sometimes I think about what the fandom would have ended up like if the major period of KH fandom had happened in the current era lmao
